| Keith's showmanship is as good as it ever was By David Lindquist It's no coincidence that Toby Keith owns a bar and grill in Las Vegas. Bottom line: Keith presents a well-polished party. He's the most "show biz" of all of today's country music superstars, a trait he reinforced Friday night at Verizon Wireless Music Center. Keith's concert for an audience of 16,006 served as a clinic in professional entertainment, an evening in which big lights bathed money moments for maximum impact. Opening number "Big Dog Daddy" -- the title track from Keith's current album -- caught fire thanks to Chuck Berry-inspired guitar riffs. Photos from Keith's football-playing days added visual context to follow-up tune "Honkytonk U." A confetti blast punctuated the end of the program's third song, "Stays in Mexico," and surplus friskiness carried over to hook-up anthem "I'm Just Talkin' About Tonight." In the span of just four songs, Keith used ego and libido to steamroll his fans -- who loved every minute. | I have been to 5 Toby concerts and this was the BEST ever. I enjoy all of them but he was giving 200% at this one. |
