Review: Beyonce show strange and memorable

Why, during a slow, sultry version of her come-hither song "Check On It," was Beyonce Knowles bouncing violently up and down while slapping herself on the head as if she'd made a terrible mistake? For a moment, it was hard to imagine anyone checking up on this woman, except in a concerned, clinical fashion. In a two-hour concert full of strangely memorable moments, this was a standout.

It was also, somehow, wonderfully representative of Beyonce, a superstar who seems appealingly human. She's pretty but not perfect, elegant but sometimes awkward, and never too cool to make a fool of herself. Those are endearing qualities, and they probably served her well after taking that now-famous, head-first spill on an Orlando stage recently. There was no outpouring of sadistic glee as there would have been for a Britney or Paris. Those women are merely desirable; Beyonce is likeable.

Friday night, Beyonce delivered a wildly entertaining if massively overstuffed two-hour concert, cramming in nearly every apsect of her personality and career. Accompanied by an all-female band, she turned cartwheels with her voice (impressive), tried to pop-lock (no dice), strutted around in glittery short-shorts (yowza), enacted some silly dance steps on "Get Me Bodied" (fun) and openly wept on stage (whoa). By the end, there was nary a hit left unsung or an emotion left unexpressed..

I experienced my first visit to Madison Square Gardens this past weekend. The show was OK. Their sound system was wonderful, but with seats located on the side I could not enjoy the show. Management could have paid to have the side MONITOR'S turned on not to mention the money they made from the show! I didn't understand why the front monitors were on for people who could obviously see the stage from the front, but not the Side monitors for the obstructed view from the side.

Beyonce was very boring, my friend who attended the Atlanta concert tried to tell me not to pay my money to go because he said that they are hyping it up so that people would attend her concerts, He was right, Beyonce was awful, I could not believe this. They are telling a lie when they say she sold out, because it was not a sale-out, and my friend said that she did not sale-out at the Phillips Arena like they lied and said she did, they closed off part of the Phillips Arena for her show, now if she had sold out they would have used the closed off part also. Beyonce fans wants people to think that she is the super trooper diva, and she is not, she was terrible, please don't waste your money, and then she gave us that terrible smilling perfume, it was just to get people to attend her concerts. I think that Janet Jackson needs to show Beyonce how to put on good concerts. I was recently reading the comments about the concerct. I am not for sure if the level of education in ny is all that great. Most of the comments that you people write are very hard to understand because they are written on a 3rd or 4th grade level. Punctuation is in existance for a reason- so that people can understand the point that you are trying to make. It does appear that there is one person repeating negative comments. I have seen Beyonce in concert for myself and she's the greatest thing since sliced bread- a true diva and I am not that easy to please. Gone Bee..... keeping stinging them! You are the hottest chick in the game and they mad cause they can't fuck wit ya! Focus more on writing complete sentences accurately. Be mad at the level of education you have not received and less on a millionaire's capability of pleasing you (or lack of pleasure). NO MATTER WHAT YOU WRITE........ Beyonce (and learn to spell her name you ignorant person, that's the biggest give away of the author of the negative comments) is going to stack bread regardless of how many times you write negative comments on this review site.
