But at the Orpheum they rambled through a dull set of drab new tunes. The few faves they did play felt like afterthoughts. Hint to the band: mix new with old 50/50 not 10/90 to keep the fans happy. Sad to say, but I feel like an ex-fan now. Um, can I have my $50 back? | |
| I've been a huge fan of the band since the 80's and have seen them live 4 times, including last summer's show at the Greek. This was an excellent concert, relying on most of their "favorites" (I did miss "Mean to Me")as well as some surprises(Not the Girl You Think You Are)and some great songs off their recent CD Time on Earth. They did try out four new songs that I had not heard previously which sounded good, but I would need to hear them again to comment. It was a really good concert. No "dull set of drab new tunes." I don't usually offer reviews, but the record must be kept straight. | |

| I must say tat Hessie's absence was surely missed!! I felt such an emptiness from the band and can only think that they are just not complete anymore without their departed drummer!! It was a very melancholy show and the new fill in guitarist was like the living dead!! Matt, the new drummer was not even a part of the band and the only camraderie was Neil and Nick, understandbly so!! I only wish that I saw them with Hessie back in the day!! Neil is such a talent, but seemed verysad underneath it all!! |
