"After hearing Michael Bublé thank the crowd at the HP Pavilion for spending their hard earned cash on his concert, you would think he would have the decency to perform sober. But no such luck Saturday night. His rendering of most songs during the 90 minute show was un-caring and flip. Even his "lights down, heartfelt" version of "Always On My Mind" was sloppy and listless. On the other hand, his backup band was hot, tight and stellar.

Despite his messiness, it would have been nice if he included a few more of his
hit songs, including Moon Dance and Quando (and a live Nelly Furtado collaboration might have excused his behavior).Unlike the throngs of those who feel he can do no wrong, some of whom even chose to share their underwear with him, I was hoping to be swept-away by this modern day Frank Sinatra. Unfortunately, the live performance similarities ended with the underwear. While Frank and his cronies publicly extolled their partying, they were all business when they sang to a live audience.

On Saturday night, Michael misplaced his mentor’s priorities.

I have to agree with the reviewer who thought Michael Buble might have been drunk at the May 3rd concert - just a little too much Kettle One. He slurred his lyrics and his timing on some songs seemed very indifferent. While the tone of his voice is wonderful, the live performance certainly lacked the beauty of his recordings. It seemed like a short, kind of haphazard concert and he didn't sing a lot of his crowd favorite numbers. Overall, I think I'll stick to listening to him on CD rather than in person."

Here are some of the reviews for his concert the night before and if they are anything to go by then you shouldn't at all be surprised at what i am about to say. I just came back from walking out on Michael Buble's concert in digust. After just four songs i had enough and was extremely disappointed. I had waited so long to see him and for years he had been one of my favourite musicians. Being a musician myself, i admired his singing ability and charisma.

So why after four songs did i walk out on one of my favourite singers of all time?

Well let's start at the beginning....

Once 8:00 finally arrived and before Michael Buble even stumbled drunkenly on to stage to slur through his first song. An acappela group called Naturally 7 who were sadly and unfortunately the highlight of the night with their talent far surpassing that of the man i actually came to see, "warmed up the crowd" (at the request of Michael Buble, stalling his on stage appearance for as long as possible) had done their gig, they welcomed Michael Buble on to the stage and then left, however we (myself and friends) we're told that the man himself would be on shortly, which actually turned out to be half and hour plus later. When he finally made his way onto the stage, he was a complete and utter mess. At first i was ready to blame the technicians because i believed the sound wasn't working. Not only was he swaying, but he missed several lyrics, stumbled over the rest and that was only the first song. From there it was all downhill, it was only when he was handed a cup of coke that my suspicions were confirmed. HE WAS DRUNK! and in what appeared to be a desperate effort to quickly sober up, he was obviously given something non-alcoholic to drink. He then tried to charm the audience by claiming that this helped him to not only sing, but his voice was hoarse. Followed by a disgusting display of him trying to relate with the audience by doing a drunken impression. This was somewhere during his second song.

" At one point he spotted a young boy in the audience and started to chat with him. The audience along with Buble learned that the young boy was 7 and his name was Will. Michael Buble thanked Will for being a fan because it kept him honest instead of like Amy Winehouse (he really said that). At this point I thought that was the extent of crowd interaction but then all of a sudden he jumps off the stage with his microphone to take a picture with Will!! On his way back to the stage he handed out hugs and kisses and even got his butt grabbed by some woman!"

This happened at the San Hose concert and was exactly what happened at the Sacramento one, with a few exceptions, the young boy was named Vincent, he asked the audience to raise their right hand and place it in the lap of the person next to them and even though i am not from LA, he made a really "bitchy" remark which was at the expense of those living in LA and their IQ's being non-existent. Can you believe it! not only had he done this "act" two nights in a row, but at that point he had officially hit rock bottom.

I had noticed his slurring and exclusion of lyrics straight away but my friend noticed that during his rendition of "It had better be to night" instead of saying "For this poor Americano Who knows little of your speech Be a nice Italiano And start to teach" he said and i quote "for this poor Canadian Americano Who knows little of your speech Be a nice Italiano And start to teach" my friend was horrified as he had already massacred her favourite song "Me and Mrs Jones" not even bothering to finish it, not that he could even sing properly. What was worse was he even burped during one of the songs! He proceeded to destroy "fever" and when he began "Call Me Irresponsible" (Bobby Darin classic) not only did he drunkenly slur out Amy Winehouse's rendition of "Rehab" after he spent most of the night criticizing her and saying he was nothing like her. Earlier He had also criticized the Sacramento Bee, because he said they would probably say "Oh Micheal Buble, will he be able to pull off big band in an arena?" this was after he tried to justify his horrifying performance by saying that something was lost by him singing in an arena. He got half-way through the song before he began to beat-box or "rap". At this point, my friends and i stormed out in disgust. we had all had enough.

I wrote this with the hope that those who have yet to see him or want to see him will seriously reconsider and not go through the anger of having just wasted their money on a disastrous performance by a drunken Michael Buble. I truly did believe that i would have a truly memorable and enjoyable evening, memorable, yes (although clearly not for the reasons i had thought) enjoyable no, it was heartbreaking not only to see a man with so much talent and charisma throw his career away, but destroy the hard-work and soul of the men like Bobby Darin (whom i admire and adore), who had worked so hard in putting their hearts, souls, love and passion into such remarkable songs and wonderful decade and genre of music.      posted by nolongeramichaelbublefan on www.concertfan.com
Wow! Some of you take things to the extreme and need to stop being so critical and just sit back and enjoy a performance/act that was unlike anything I thought I'd be able to see let alone even be around in my lifetime. Yes, I initially found Mr. Buble's personality a little racey but quickly realized that it was all part of the act/personality and his warmth and passion for his music drastically outshined and placed the performance in lights. For those who sat there and critiqued the entire perfromace (or during the brief moments you decided to stay) with a magnifying glass, I feel sorry that you were unable to relax and just enjoy the show. Also, I can not speak for everyone but it clearly seemed that everyone around my wife and I were quite pleased and having a great time and pretty much everyone for that matter.
We are all entitled to our own opinion, that's what maks things great but for those of you reading these reviews to determin if you will go or not...go! My wife and I had a great time and would see him again, no question. His music is brilliant, his band is brilliant, he is brilliant and the experience was brilliant.

I almost walked out of the concert.

Wow! I'm appalled to read that Michael Buble did his same, drunken spiel two days in a row! I have to agree with the first person who critiqued the show, I coudn't have said it better myself. I, too, was disgusted with Michael Buble's performance at Arco Arena in Sacramento.

My girlfriend paid for my tickets as a birthday present and the tickets aren't cheap. I was so disappointed with his drunken performance and foul language. Frank Sinatra was a professional and wouldn't have given the kind of performance that Buble displayed. It was painful to watch him sing. Even using foul language was inappropriate. I guess it happens when you're in a drunken stupor.
After reading the "no longer a michael buble fan" review I could not relate more! He did all the same things at the Sydney concert on May 31 (boy in the audience, slurring, woman grabbing his butt) What a disappointment. My mum and sisters and I still had a great night, but it was largely due to his great band.
I just saw him in Sydney and it was the BEST concert of my life. He was fantastic, talented. funny, witty, charming everything I could hope for and more. I have been to U2, Kylie Minogue, Keith Urban, Madonna etc and he was by far the greatest I have ever seen and I wish I could go to all his shows while he is here. Before the show we even saw him at the gates near the carpark and he came over and shook our hands and said he hopes we enjoy the show. He is so sweet and such a show man. So I find the above comments hard to believe going by my experience and I recommend this concert to everyone, even my husband is a converted fan!!!!!
I also want to add in re to Sydney show he was not drunk I dont know what this person is talking about, as I said we met him 30 mins before show and he was definately sober.

Go see real musicians like RUSH!!!!!!!!!!
I was at the Canberra concert on 28th May and his performance was different in that he had a girl in the crowd this night ;-) Did the photo with her, got the grab on his butt by the woman and had us all raise our hand and place them in the lap next to us. Seems to be the standard show.
