The band opened with a cover of Elton John's "Saturday Night," which was surprising. I understand that the concert was on a Saturday, but Bon Jovi has enough in their reportoire to open with one of their own tunes. They also touched some other covers songs during the show (Jumping Jack Flash, Shout), which was surprising and disappointing.

The band then proceeded to bore teh crowd with way too many new songs that all sound alike, with a classic song peppered in here and there. I was unpleasantly surprised at the song selection. The crowd was so disinterested that Jon even commented about how the crowd wasn't into it (something like "i've heard of conserving energy" for those that attended and remember).

The classics sounded alright, but I suspect that Jon has lost some of his vocal range. For the portions of songs that required higher-octave singing, he opted to not sing and let just the crowd sing. I love sing-alongs at concerts, but Jon's always had a wonderful tone in the higher registers. It was disappointing to hear him dodge those parts.

We left during one of the new songs in the encore. Apparently, many others shared my sentiment, as many others were leaving the show as well. We heard later that he did "Wanted Dead or Alive" near the end of the encore, which should've been in a portion of the concert where the band had the interest of the crowd.

I've been to my share of concerts, many of them to promote a new CD. In most cases, the bands will play a couple of new hits/songs from the new CD, but the majority of the concert is the songs that put the particular band where they are. I'm surprised that a band with the reputation, talent, and staying power of Bon Jovi selected opted to play a majority of songs from their newer stuff.

I, along with the rest of the friends/family that attended the concert, were very very disappointed with Bon Jovi. On the flip side, Nickelback was good, minus the t-shirt cannon nonsense. :)
I don't know where this person was--I was at this show and Jon never said anything like "something like "i've heard of conserving energy" for those that attended and remember)"!!!

The concert was great and so was the band and the songs they performed.

Yep I was there too, right in front of the stage. I thought Jon sounded wonderful and put on a great show like always. It was well worth my money. I do love all his old music, but I was very happy he played alot off the Have A Nice Day album. If your a true BJ fan, then you love all his music old and new. As for letting the crowd sing, he did that years ago with his first concerts. I dont think it had anything to do with losing his vocal range.
I was at that concert also, and I have to agree it was one of the worst concerts I have been too. I think he should have done more of the old songs that put him where he is today, instead of performing the new stuff that not many people are familiar with. I have to say the best part of the night was leaving early and beating the traffic home.
i thought this concert rocked. i dont know what show the other people attended but this was my 3rd time seeing them and i thought it was great!
