IF YOU LOVE DYLAN AND THE CURRENT WAY HE PERFORMS BOTH HIS OLD AND NEW SONGS, THEN YOU WOULD HAVE LOVED THIS CONCERT. I LOVED THIS CONCERT. IF YOU WERE LOOKING FOR THE "OLD" ACCOUSTIC DYLAN AND HIS SWEET RENDITIONS OF "BLOWIN' IN THE WIND," "SHELTER FROM THE STORM" OR "ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER," THEN YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN DISAPPOINTED! VIVA LA DIFFERENCE! THREE CHEERS FOR MR. BOB DYLAN!
He did a great job of Visions of Johanna, Blowin' in the Wind, It's alright ma I'm only bleeding, All Along the WatchTower (as an encore) and shelter from the storm. He also played alot of his new stuff, which I'm not as familiar with. His band was great, as was the sound of the Jones Beach Nikon Ampitheater. It was a beautiful night- clear skies, full moon above the stage, right on the beach, boats docked all along the harbor....really a gorgeous way to see Dylan.

The only complaint is that I would have liked to see Dylan on the guitar more and on the keyboard less. This was surprising that he only played like 2 songs on guitar.

Funny note, he messed up his lyrics of Its Alright Ma Im Only Bleeding. Listen to a recording and you can tell. : )

Very disappointed in this show. It was very difficult to understand the lyrics and hard to see and hear him. His traditional favorites were not in their common melody and Dylan's voice was less than melodic.
The screens were not used in this show therefore limiting visual acuity.
Since Dylan is most known for his creative writing savvy producers should put his lyrics up on screens for all to enjoy, or at the very least ~ Dylan himself. His band over powered his vocals most of the time and left Dylan lovers like myself, very disappointed.
Very disappointed in the concert. One of the worst concerts I have ever seen. Dylan can't sing anymore, and the only thing that could have saved him was to do some of the classic Dylan songs he is so known and loved for. He only did two that I recall. Don't Think Twice and Blowing in the Wind which took me a while to even realize that was the song he was singing since he changed the composition so drastically. The side screens were not on so all you could see was a little cowboy hat on the stage. He probably did not want everyone to see what he looks like! I can honestly say that the only good thing about the evening was his band...they were great!
Absolutely terrible-he should retire
I love bob dylan and have seen many many dylan shows over the years. Most have tried my patience. This one was the worst!! I took my 16 year old daughter to see him (her 1st time), and i was embarrassed. Why can't dylan play his guitar ONLY??? Why can't dylan sing to where we can understand him?? Bob Dylan has always been about words. I just want to hear and understand the words he is singing. I will always be a big fan and i will always buy his albums. I will never pay to see him in concert again though. It's time Bob Dylan starts caring about the fans that pay to see him, otherwise stop touring. LDG,L.I.
Yes, I got to see the legend Bob Dylan live. That's about the only good thing I got from the concert. I could hardly understand his vocals and couldn't even tell when he was doing the songs I love him for. The best parts were dancing to his band jamming. I wish I could have seen and heard him better. I think it's time for Dylan to go.
you can't rate bob dylan. i have to laugh when i read some of the unfavorable comments posted. some of the reviews could have been from 20 years ago. bob is a poet and will not do as the audience likes and it is that simple. visions of jo was great and so were his new songs. he just keeps going.
I agree with most about the vocals being difficult to make out and very raspy at the Jones Beach concert! I was so disappointed and slso embarrased at having spent so much money to treat my husband to a special birthday treat to see his idol - 3,000 miles from home. I was also very frustrated that he chose not to use the screens so we could see him better. I spoke to one of the security staff and they said it was Dylan that chose not to show the concert on the big screens as he had to pay extra for that. Good grief, isn't he a billionaire by now. The highlight of the night was the full moon backdrop and the great breezy beach weather...definitely not the concert. The opening band was better although overstayed their welcome a bit.

THis show was one of the worst I have ever seen. I am a huge Dylan fan and have seen him in concert a number of times during the past thirty years. I have always loved his shows but this was nothing more than a cowboy hat growling through unintelligible songs. It was comical when Bob tried to sing some of them in a Tony Bennett genre. On the other hand, his back-up band and the opening band were great. My husband and I will never pay to see Dylan live again. The Jones beach theatre and its setting were the highlights.
