JOSH ROCKED! In a sold out United Center he managed to connect with fans, clearly going for as intimate and personal as possible in a stadium that fits up to 20.000. He was witty, charming and self depracating in his banter between songs, even to the point of over-indulging the fans that went up to him for autographs during one of the most beautiful songs of the night. How he can sign autographs, receive gifts ("Josh Rocks" candies, a.o.) wink at fans, give them the thumbs up and sing his heart out at the same time is a mystery to me.
It's amazing how comfortable Josh is with himself and with the public. He has unlocked the key to real and long lasting success: be a genuinely nice, normal person with a talent so huge it needs to be shared with the world, and a passion to work hard at it.

Josh is a megastar, but not a celebrity. He showed up among the audience in the back when singing "In her eyes", worked his way (and magic) slowly back to the stage, delighting and igniting the crowd in the process. The screams of the fans almost overpowered his singing. Josh definitely felt the love in Chicago. He'll definitely need to come back. Soon.

The message he brought back from his trip to South Africa came through loud an clear without becoming overly political, he came across as humble but determined to help fight for the cause. The duet with the amazing Angelique Kidjo "Pearls" was heartfelt and powerful. The new direction of his new album "Awake" is a direct result of his trip to SA, one that we can only stand in awe of. His versatility, immense talent, increased global awareness, growth as an artist, performer and person are all what set him apart from your average crowd pleasing crooner. The songs "Lullaby", "Weeping" and "Machine" are all departures from his old repertoire and are the best indicator of what lies ahead for Josh, who seems destined to become a very accomplished singer/songwriter with a wide range and cross genre mass appeal, more so even than he already is. To hear Josh sing those songs live was absolutely incredible, I felt touched to the core, and felt somehow immensely proud of him.

This was by far the best and most uplifting concert I have attended. The crowd went insane during his drums solo in the encore, when he came back wearing the Chicago Bulls #23 (go Michael Jordan!!) jersey. With the megahit "You raise me up" the concert came to an end. For those of us who kept yelling "We want more!" the moment the lights came up seemed unreal. We could have gone on forever, entranced by Josh's unbelievable, out of this world, uniquely rich, angel-like voice.

As Josh says in the concert guide: "The voice I have is the voice I have. It's how I express myself and it's not something I ever want to lose.". What a gift that is, to all of us. Thank you, Josh, thank you.
An incredible evening listening to an incredible talent! It is wonderful to listen to his CD's, but live and in concert... he's even better. Truly a voice one never gets tired of !
Get Josh Groban stuff here
It was a wonderful night and I'm sure Josh won over many of the husbands who were dragged along to see the "little woman's" favorite singer. I've been to all three Chicago shows and he does get better each time. His vocals were beautiful and the visuals were terrific as well. We certainly got our money's worth and those in the crowd who had travelled through that terrible weather had lots of warm memories for the ride home. Come back to Chicago soon. We will be here waiting to see you again, Josh.
I am one of the "hubbies" who was dragged out in the bad weather... I must admit, I was amazed! This guy is one of the most talented singers of all time! I was awestruck! The trek in the snow, sleet and slush was worth it. Great crowd too...
This is my second Josh concert and my 13 year old daughter WANTED to come with me and my husband! We immensely ENJOYED the evening with Josh and my husband was a good sport about it. My daughter screamed along wjOSH IS TRULY AN AMAZING SINGERith me for another encore. We just could not get enough of Josh !!!! jOSH IS TRULY AN AMAZING SINGER AND DOWN TO EARTH PERSON. please come back to chicago soon!!!!!!!
Absolutely AMAZING concert! Josh is truly THE concert to see!!!!!
Dragged to see him again. Boring Josh, boring! Dull and Awake should not be the name of your album. You put me to sleep. Depressing songs but a strong voice. Enough of the English as a second language songs!
CAN WE SAY DULL TOGETHER
a majority of tunes adhered to a monotonous combination of crawling tempos, soft keys and sweeping endings. Chicago Tribune
Groban's rigid posture and cautious delivery reinforced a canned presentation that cried out for a natural dynamic. Chicago Tribune
Not what I expected from this talented man. Very disappointing!
There will not be a next time. He was depressing
BORING JOSH EXPECTED MORE
Groban sucks!
Awake......No, Asleep would be more appropriate! Josh was not up to what we have come to expect from him.
I may even book a flight and see him again.
He is the best singer I know.
Not his best at all. Book a flight to Africa maybe.
I truly fell asleep. It was a tad boring.
I thought it was very political and too Afrikanish for my taste. He has the best voice I've ever heard, though
I hated this concert big time! He was a waste to my money and time! Keep you political statements to yourself thanks!
I have to agree with the political message not what I pay this kind of money to hear african music. the opening was so bad. then he sings in foreign languages. i bought the album but i gave it away it reminded me of this concert wish i had given the tickets away as well.
Josh at his best.
Messages weren't political, more "humanitarian."

Try disappointing and truly a departure from the wonderful Groban we loved and supported from the start of his career. Everyone is entitled to one mistake and this was a big HUGE mistake.
gots to agree
Josh, don't change. You rock!
saw him at the staple center and i only have one thing to say to all the reviews that wew bad... you all need to learn what beatiful music is all about.he is a genius and los angeles fans were more respectful than any of you east coast people. shame on you!
It is apparent that his fat fans have been online clicking the 5's here. The ratings on several of his concert dates have drastically changed in one day without great postings. This one was around a 1.7 last night and now with two additions it has increased. So people, disregard the rating score and read the reviews. The LA site was under 1 and two hours later with NO postings it increased to over 3. Grobanites are busy! Now if they could only change the minds and postings of all the people who were greatly disappointed! Not nice you losers!
